Kili Big

Written and directed by Ida Joglar. A group of plus-sized women from around the world attempt to climb the tallest freestanding mountain on the planet, Mount Kilimanjaro. This 90 minute documentary follows the group from training through the climb, all the while delving into the themes of fatness, representation, self-acceptance and everyday acts of courage, through intimate interviews with the women on the mountain and in their homes.

Winner of the Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature at Bentonville Film Festival and Best New Jersey Film at Montclair Film Festival. Ida Joglar also received the Breakthrough Director Award at Athena Film Festival for her work on this, her first feature film. Currently streaming on Crackle.

My Name Is Annabel

Annabel Hernandez, a charismatic performer with Down syndrome, tells her story. This documentary short is at once an intimate portrait and a creative collaboration between participant and filmmaker, interweaving day in the life footage with Annabel’s own interviews of her friends and family. The film culminates in a celebratory finale performance music video of a song co-written with Annabel.

Hau Nia Tasi, Hau Nia Timor

This video series, produced in conjunction with Timor-Leste’s Maritime Boundary Office, showcases the biodiversity of Timor-Leste’s oceans, as well as local traditions. Part of an ongoing campaign to develop a Blue economy in this young nation, it’s screened at global environmental conferences and as part of local educational events.

Entangled

After the SeaLegacy team encountered a young whale entangled in a crab pot line, in Monterey Bay, a marine protected area, I had so many questions. With the footage from that first expedition plus follow up interviews with local experts this documentary series became a highly successful fundraising campaign for continuing their mission of protection through raising awareness.
